The provider’s own DNS resolver returns the regulator’s address instead of yours, so the subscriber lands on a warning page while the domain stays perfectly healthy everywhere else.

ADM keeps one of the oldest and largest blocklists in Europe, and it is enforced on every consumer network.

What we check in Italy

For every provider below we ask that provider’s own DNS resolver, from inside its network, what your domain resolves to — and compare the answer with public DNS. That is the same answer a subscriber gets, which is why a datacenter-based “is it down?” tool cannot see these blocks at all.

What a blocked domain looks like here

Instead of your real address, the resolver returns 217.175.53.72. If you see that address for your own domain, the domain is on the list — your hosting is fine.

Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) publishes the register at https://www.adm.gov.it/. Domains are added continuously, and nobody tells you when yours is added.
